Yesterday we posted an easy rooting method (PingPong Root) for ALL Samsung Galaxy S6 variants without wiping your data.
Today xda member”@idler1984“ came up with a new beta version of PingPong Root application, this time for supporting ALL (yes, AT&T G925A and Verizon G925V are supported) Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge variants.
Now it’s possible to root any galaxy S6 edge without tripping KNOX counter (KNOX: 0x0) just in few seconds without using computer, it doesn’t matter if you have a locked or unlocked bootloader phone.
Requirements:
- Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge running on supported build (check the list below).
- Latest PingPong Root App beta5, beta5.1, beta5.2, beta6.
Rooting instructions:
- Download PingPong Root App.
- Go to Settings > Lock screen and security, turn on Unknown sources (skip this step if you have unknown sources enabled).
- Hit PingPong Root APK file to install it.
- Once done, Open the application.
- It will ask you to install SuperSu, accept installation.
- Once done, Exit all Apps
- Launch SuperSu App, It will give an error message “There is no SU binary installed” Hit OK to exit the app.
- Open PingPong Root, Click “Download Data” button to update device data if you have Internet connection.
- Put your device in flight mode.
- Go back to PingPong app, click the “Get Root!” button.
- Wait a few seconds, until it display Root done!.
- Now reboot your device.
You can Verify the root access on your device using Root Checker App.

Notes:
- If your device reboot after clicking “Get root” button, try it again.
- Rooting might change your device’s status to modified (you will not be able to update it via OTA).
- Use PingPong Root App at your own risk.
- PingPong Root tool developers are working on supporting more build.
- The latest versions of PingPong Root App will install chaifire’s SuperSu App instead of Kinguser App.
